Cremation Basic Info

Time

  • Cremation - 3 Hours
  • Processing of Ashes - 2 Hours
  • Up to 15 Days for Entire Process upon Death

Environment

  • About 540 Pounds of Carbon Dioxide created per Body Cremated
  • This is the equivalent of 2.5 Trees for an Entire Year to Convert the Carbon Dioxide back into Oxygen so to cover an entire World Population of 7.7 billion we would need to have almost 20 billion Trees and this does not even touch the amount of trees we need for coffins (please see burials for more information) or due to other emissions like cars and such.
  • One Tree can make up to 100 Wooden Urns which is 15x that of what a coffin can produce from 1 tree. Which helps to save the environment. One can still get the benefits of burial as well as the costs of cremation (please see burials for more information).

Output

  • The Typical output of Ashes from Cremation is .78 Cubic Inches Per Pound
    • This means that for a person of 200 pounds that is 156 cubic inches which would be the size of a 5.5 inch square block of ashes which would be the equivalent of a laptop closed almost sized bag or a flat 2 gallon bag full.
